Adult Popsicle Treats to Beat the Heat

If you live in Arizona, you know it is downright HOT. With temperatures ranging in the 100’s for the summer months, people are desperately trying to stay cool. Although chugging an ice cold water or sitting in the pool with an iced tea may sound nice and refreshing, I can think of an even better way to stay cool while having a bit of extra fun at the same time.

Adult Popsicle Treats to Beat the HeatOne of the greatest ways to relax while trying to keep cool, in my opinion, is to make some boozy popsicles for all the adults to enjoy! Now I’m sure you’ve seen articles on sites like Buzzfeed before, showing off a plethora of alcoholic popsicle treats you can make– it’s clearly been done before. What I am going to do, however, is compile a list of my top 4 favorite boozy popsicles you can make right at home!

1.) Frosé Rosé Wine Pop

This is one of my favorite alcoholic popsicle treats to make! You can create such a classy popsicle with some wine, white soda, ice, and a little extra ingredient of your choice (whether that be fruit, gummies, etc).

Ingredients

  • 1 cup any rose wine (can also be substituted with any sweet wine of your choice)
  • 12oz can white soda (7up, Sprite, etc)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 to a full cup of crushed ice
  • popsicle molds
  • fruit gummies of your choice OR cut up fruit of your choice

Directions

  1. Pour ice, wine, sugar and soda into blender
  2. Blend until everything is completely mixed and smooth

2.) Tropical Tequila Sunrise

I came across this recipe on the blog Real Food by Dad. I am a huge tequila fan, and thought this would be a perfect recipe to add to the list. Not only will the pop cool you down, but it’ll get you drunk fast!

  • 1 pound fresh pineapple, peeled and pureed
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup grenadine
  • popsicle molds

Directions

  1. Combine and stir together the pineapple juice, pureed pineapple and tequila.
  2. Fill popsicle mold 3/4 way up with pineapple mixture.
  3. Pour 1 teaspoon of grenadine into each mold.
  4. Freeze over night, then serve

This is one of my personal favorites in this list. Mojitos are the crème de la crème of alcoholic beverages for me… I drink them as if they were water. So what better way could a mint and lime lover spend cooling off than with this frozen beauty?! Real Housemoms, a blog for sharing recipes, had a delicious one for this popsicle that I just had to pass along myself.

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 20 mint leaves, plus more to garnish
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • popsicle molds

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat sugar and water to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in mint leaves. Cover and let steep until mint syrup is cool.
  3. In a bowl combine mint syrup, lime juice and rum.
  4. Pour mixture into popsicle molds, adding mint leaves and sliced lime pieces into each one (if desired).
  5. Freeze overnight, then serve
