Dreamlings Bedtime Stories – “At The Top”

Jamie Abromovitz, created Dreamalings as an educational endeavor to enrich and educate children and adults through entertaining educational content, products, tools and programs to foster a lifelong love of learning through imagination and creativity.

She presents these stories so you can read them to your children at bedtime from your portable tablet or phone.

Before reading:  Ask children the following questions…

  1. Do you like to climb and play and run and jump?
  2. Where do you play? On What?
  3. Do you ever fall?
  4. What do you when you fall?

(KEY MESSAGE: GET RIGHT BACK UP WHEN YOU FALL)

 –

At The Top

Up on the mountain top,

top, top…

There lived a mouse

With a hop,

hop, hop.

This mouse with a hop,

On the mountain top-

Would bop and bop

And never stopped…

But one day he fell,

And dropped,

drop drop.

And he even lost his hop,

hop, hop…

Yes,

Now he “dreamed”

Of the mountain top,

Where he skipped and played,

And hopped,

hop, hop…

But remembered,

Before he saw mountain tops,

He had climbed,

Over time-

Never stopped,

stop, stop…

And worked hard

To get to the top,

top, top,

…And he had to practice

His hop,

hop, hop…

So once again

At the mountain top,

There lived a mouse

With a hop,

hop, hop.

And this mouse with a hop

On the mountain top-

Would bop and bop

And never stopped…

Skipping and playing

On the mountain top…

And climbing back up

When he dropped

drop,drop…

After Reading Questions:
  1. Do you cry when you fall and stay on the ground, and feel bad?
  2. Do you get right back up and try again?
  3. Does it feel better to go away and stop playing, or to get back up and try again?
  4. Talk about what you should do when you fall, and why that makes you feel better.
