United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona (UCP), in a unique collaboration with ArizonaTechnology Access Program and Ryan’s House, have joined forces to offer a distinctive workshop and community event on ucp_logo_taglineSunday, March 29 at United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. The events will teach others how to engage children and adults with disabilities in art and the creative process.

Through Zot Artz, a library of adapted approaches, educators from various fields will have the rare opportunity to learn and explore growth through the creative process.  The course and all of the provided equipment is designed so that participants with limited movement or motor skills can be successful at their own level of ability, creating original works of art. The art activities that are taught foster social interaction, self-esteem and natural inclusion since the program nurtures the ability for children and adults to work at their own level of ability.

This special workshop has limited space, and although it is targeted to help occupational, physical, recreational and art therapists, parents and family members of the disabilities community, are also encouraged to sign up and participate.  The program is also perfectly designed for art teachers, special education teachers, social services agencies and speech language pathologists who would like to learn more. The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..

The total cost is $25 dollars, which will be waived if you stay and volunteer for the community event following the workshop from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The community event will help participants to apply the skills learned from the workshop by having the opportunity to work directly with the children and adults who come to the event to participate in the Artz without Limits. Workshop participants will gain firsthand knowledge and experience of using Zot Artz adaptive art equipment, making large and small works of art.  Please join in this opportunity to foster relationships with agencies in the greater community.
