Whatmiley cyrus.image. is a role model? Someone who you look up to and admire; a person you may even try to imitate. Having said that, should celebrities be our role models?

A celebrity used to be someone who strictly had some sort of talent. Whether it was singing, dancing, or acting; the public agreed they were good at something. Now someone can become famous for absolutely no reason at all. This doesn’t mean there aren’t a few celebrities who are worthy of their fame. But there are definitely a handful we watch knowing full well they aren’t people we should actually idolize. Can you think of any?

Regardless of their fame and talent, celebrities have become people who the public looks up to. There are some celebrities who live their lives keeping in mind that they are role models for others. Then there are others who don’t…because is it really a celebrities job to be a role model?

Miley Cyrus is a celebrity who was admired by many young girls. But, once she left Hannah Montana and created a different image for herself there was an uproar. Parents didn’t want their children looking up to Miley Cyrus anymore because she was deemed as “miley cyrus. 2015. header.inappropriate.” But, should young girls have put her on such a high pedestal in the first place?

Keeping up with the Kardashians is a show following the lives of a family of celebrities. This show is watched by a plethora of people. Why is it so popular? You can deny it all you want, but some people wish they were living the lives of the Kardashian and Jenner family! Does that mean this family should be idolized? Are they good role models?

Celebrities have been given a great deal of power. They have great influence over the people who watch them, but I am not sure if any of them should be role models. These celebrities aren’t perfect. It’s okay to be fans but it’s probably best to not try and imitate the lives of people who are growing up themselves! Parents- be wary of who your children want to be like. We do not know these celebrities, we are simply making opinions from what we see on T.V…what you see isn’t always the most factual.
