Color red_Ruby Farias_Me The ArtistIt is said that the most powerful color is Red. I believe that some of us understand, to a degree, what the symbolism of color portrays. I am here to share some thoughts and ideas of what Red means to me. As an artist, I have always been drawn to the color Red… It is striking, full of energy, power and love.

I recall in my corporate life, when I had to make an important presentation or be in front of executives, I would normally wear a red suit. And in my mind I wore Red to give me strength and positive energy. When we learn the meanings of colors, we comprehend; we use them how we can.  And as the meaning of color is expanded, we might feel the need for another color to provide an aura around us.

When you enter an office or public location, what emotion do you feel? Does that color provide you with a sense of peace, tranquility, energy, joy or balance? If you were to take any of these emotions, what color do you believe they would be?

Years ago I did a lot of reading on Feng Shui that also brought color into creating an environment of good things to my home and office. I was intrigued and again triggered to take another look at my home to ensure my Red is in the right place.

When my clients paint in the studio I want them to select their colors and modify the me’sterpiece that is being instructed to their own liking. I will say that most of the time when we are creating a predominantly red work of art, most stick to the color. They are drawn to it. So as you look around in your office or home, where is your color of Red?

The color of Red is known to represent excitement, passion, power, heat, fire, blood, courage, and danger.
