Let me start out by saying that I have been wanting to buy and review the recently popular “lip stain” lip glosses/lipsticks for quite a while now. While on Facebook a couple months back just scrolling through my daily feed, I came across a video that one of my friends had liked. It was a Korean advertisement for one of their new fads in the cosmetic world, lip glosses that stained, or tinted, your lips a certain color. How cute right? No longer would a lady have to think about applying lipstick every 5 minutes because she was worried about maintaining the color. So naturally, I just had to try them out. The product that I specifically bought was My Lip Tint by berrisom. There are numerous other tip tint products, but the one from Korea caught my eye.
Now, I have actually had these lip glosses in my possession for a few months, and have been meaning to do a review. Even though I have waited a while, at least you can say I have had enough time to test out the product and give it a fair review after processed thought.
What I Think About the Product
The product is applied just like a regular lipgloss, however, more precision in needed upon application. You have to get the gloss on just right because it starts the tinting process right after settling. You don’t want to stain/tint the skin above or below your lip. However, you also don’t want to have spots on your lips that are missing color.
Although the glosses in the My Lip Tint kit smells amazing, they taste awful. They are very bitter and taste chemically based, if you know what I mean. I recommend trying your best to keep it off of your tongue!
Because the directions were completely in Korean, I just left the lip glosses on my lips until they began to peel. Each time it ended up taking about 10 minutes in total to dry enough to be peeled off.
My initial thought after peeling off the glosses was, “Oh, my lips aren’t as bright as I thought they would be.” The gloss comes out extremely bright, but only slightly tints the lips. To get your lips to be a bright tint, you need to apply the product about two or three times. Because it takes 10 minutes each time the lip tint is applied to dry, that can take up quite a bit of time.
What I recommend to do, if you want to apply the gloss multiple times, apply it at the beginning of your hair and makeup routine. As you go through and get ready, peel and reapply the product as many times as needed. That way, you can continue getting ready without having to wait around for the gloss to dry. It is definitely an item you can multitask with.
All in all, I enjoyed the product even with its little annoyances. I use them at least once a week, because the color really lasts for hours, sometimes even a few days. So, if you are interested in trying out some lip tint glosses, you can check out the brand here!
